Passionate Experts. Trusted Partners. Community Advocates.

Emily Lewis Design, LLC is a design and development studio based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are a passionate two-person team specializing in branding, design, web development and content management systems. Our clients range from small one-person shops, to mid-sized businesses, to large non-profits.

More than what we do is how we do it. We strive to be partners, as well as experts, for our clients. Whether it is a website or an identity, we understand that knowing our clients’ business and goals is the key to delivering results.

  • Emily is easy to work with, very open to new ideas and very professional. Highly recommended.

  • [Lea] wasn’t just focused on the individual pages but was always coming up with ways to tie the entire site together visually. This really blew us away...She has really become a creative partner and I would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking for a young, vibrant designer.

  • I always compare XHTML mark up and CSS code quality from other companies to Emily’s and every time I’m disappointed. If I want the best, lightest, most semantic XHTML designs, I go to Emily. Other companies and individuals might come up with XHTML that validates, but only Emily’s is as efficient and as semantic as possible.

  • I worked with Emily directly on developing a strategic plan for our online video presence. With her guidance, we were able to choose a mode of delivery for video that was both economical for our organization and the most accessible for our users.

  • Your team’s in-depth kickoff conversation with our group was one of the most intelligent and effective conversations for a project our lawyers have experienced. It was focused, detailed, pragmatic, well-organized, direct and sensible. We appreciated your professional, direct, no-nonsense demeanor throughout the process. We love our new website, and we enjoyed working with you.

Kelly J. Brewer, Director of Marketing & Communications Sutin, Thayer & Browne
  • Great working with your team. You put our firm's needs first yet gently guided us toward better ideas when possible. We are very happy with your approach, style and thoroughness, and we love our new website!

Kelly J. Brewer, Director of Marketing & Communications Sutin, Thayer & Browne
  • You made the time and effort to get a sense of us and our specific needs. That level of care and attention carried through during the development of our new site. We felt like you knew exactly what you were doing and exactly how to get our project where we wanted it to be.

  • Lea helped create our company identity, designed the logo and the entire website, and she was fabulous! She was creative, responsive, collaborative, and extremely professional. She took the work to a higher level.

Jillian Tohber Leslie, CEO & Founder Catch My Party
  • Let’s start with the end result: our customers routinely compliment us on the look and feel of our design. They tell us that it’s attractive, clean, fun, consistent, and friendly. When people see our UI, one of the most common responses is “I love it”. I kid you not! The design matches the goals of our brand perfectly, and it’s a key element in delivering a positive overall user experience.

Bill Dwight, CEO & Founder FamZoo, Inc.
  • I often had the opportunity to review [Emily's] work during test/beta cycles and was always impressed with what she had done — and often with little time. I found her talents as an xhtml/css coder to be second–to–none.

  • Emily is very driven, smart and paid close attention to detail. She maneuvered through complex client tasks and helped raise the level of professionalism in the office and added to the quality of our deliveries.

    Frank Stovicek TeAM, Inc.
  • Emily keeps the user experience and semantics in mind … setting the bar for code quality that has not yet been met even by companies netting $400–800k for web design projects.

Emily Lewis

Principal Developer

I'm a craftsman. I not only care about what people see, I care about what they don't see. (Go ahead. View source.) I believe expertise is more than just being an expert. It’s about knowing when, why and how to apply my skills. My goal isn’t to use every feature and technique. Instead I transform technology into websites and CMSes that deliver the best results for my clients.

Not only am I passionate about supporting my clients, I’m passionate about supporting my community. I serve as Managing Editor for Web Standards Sherpa, and am the author of Microformats Made Simple and a contributing author for the HTML5 Cookbook. Along with Lea, I host the CTRL+CLICK CAST, and I speak at conferences and events all over the country.

Lead Designer

If you want an experienced designer who will create engaging and effective sites, then I’m your gal. Respecting clients and building great relationships with them, as well as pinpointing design flaws that aren't accurate reflections of my clients' brand are all key to my process. My goal is design with sass and class: professional, attractive, hassle-free web solutions that fulfill client goals which helps formulate and deliver precisely the right business-building message.

This isn’t just fancy-speak: I was an active part of Capital Ideas, where small business help other small business. It’s important to me that I actually interact with business owners not necessarily related to the web to know how to a) discuss technical solutions in a language everyone understands, and to b) properly create solutions for them! Additionally, I’ve been interviewed by the press about entrepreneurship, branding, and competition. I understand where you’re coming from because I’ve been there.
